Throughout treatment, you may experience a broken appliance, pain, or discomfort. If you do, please text or call our office and we will address your concern with the utmost urgency.
If you have a loose or broken appliance without discomfort, we ask that you contact our office and let us know. Often times, a repair without discomfort is not considered an emergency and can wait to be addressed at the next scheduled appointment without extending treatment time. If there is discomfort, we can often assist you in remedying it in the comfort of your own home. Please use the information below to guide you and contact us if you have any further questions.
Soreness After Visits
After your initial bonding and throughout treatment following your adjustment appointments, you may experience soreness. Often times, this can be remedied by taking an over the counter pain reliever such as Motrin or Tylenol.
Wire Irritations
If you are experiencing discomfort due to a wire poke, attempt to push the wire away from the agitated area with an eraser or Q Tip. You may also cover the tip of the wire with a piece of wax. If neither of these options work, please contact our office and our clinical team can guide you on how to clip the wire using sterilized scissors or nail clippers.
Loose Bracket
Please contact our office as soon as you notice your bracket is loose or broken. We will advise you on whether or not you need a repair appointment. If you are advised that you do not need a repair appointment and that the repair can be done at your next scheduled appointment, understand that this means that the repair is not an emergency and that it will not slow down your treatment time.
Loose Wire
If you are experiencing a loose wire, please call or text our office. Our clinical team may be able to walk you through move the wire back into place. If the wire is poking you, please use wax to cover the tip of the wire.
Broken or Lost Invisalign Trays
If you realize that you have lost or damaged one of Invisalign trays, please wear your previous set of aligners and contact our office. We may inform you to skip to the next set. Doing this once or twice over the course of treatment will not prolong treatment.
Invisalign Tray Discomfort
It is normal to experience slight soreness when initially wearing your Invisalign trays. The soreness should wear off within a few hours. If you are experiencing discomfort due to a rough edge of the tray, call or text our office and one of our team members may instruct you to use a nail file to sand the rough edge.
Invisalign Attachment Fell Off
If one of your attachments falls off throughout the course of treatment, please text or call us to let us know. We will let you know whether you need a repair appointment or not. Please continue to wear your trays.
