How Much Do Braces Cost?

The cost of braces varies depending on a variety of factors. Where you live, the extent and type of treatment required, and the style of braces can all influence the total cost. The average cost of braces at Vinson Orthodontics ranges between $1,200-$6,500.

Let’s look at how the different braces cost at our practice measure up to these figures.

Cost of Braces By Appliance Type

Damon Braces Cost

Damon metal braces use a self-ligating system instead of elastics to hold the archwires in place. This system creates a more comfortable, less noticeable style of braces. You can expect to pay between $1,200-$6,500 for Damon metal braces.

Damon Clear Braces Cost

Damon clear braces use brackets made of clear ceramic rather than metal, making them even less noticeable. We offer these as limited use for the upper arch. Upper arch treatment with Damon clear ceramic adds an additional fee to your treatment.

Clear Aligners Cost

Aligners use a series of custom-made, clear trays to progressively move teeth into their proper position. They are nearly invisible and can be taken out for eating, drinking, and cleaning. We are proud to offer Invisalign clear aligners for the same price as Damon braces. Clear aligner systems such as this may cost between $1,200-$6,500.

Factors That Affect The Cost of Braces

Various factors can affect the total cost of orthodontic treatment with braces. One main factor is a patient’s age. Adults typically need longer treatment times than children and adolescents, whose jaws and teeth are still growing and respond more quickly to treatment.

Other factors that influence the cost of braces include:

  • The treatment location
  • The type of braces or aligners
  • The length of time needed for treatment. The average length of treatment with braces is 19.9 months, and shorter or longer treatment may influence the cost.
  • How far your teeth need to be moved
  • How well you take care of your braces. Proper cleaning and maintenance of your braces will keep your treatment on track and help you avoid additional costs.
